The dungeon quest starts far south in Valoria. But because of events out of your control, you must make several stops on the way north to even enter.

The main entrance has been sealed and the only ones with the word of power were trapped inside or dead. Joe in Paws knows there was an expedition of Valorian fighters to Destard and Hailey treated the survivors. The healer mentions one death among those but that one did not die before raving on about another entrance near the town of Dawn and using fire to get in.

Sir Robin, who's taken up residence in the pub in Britain, turns out to be one of the survivors of that doomed expedition. He tells of an entrance to the dungeon far up in the mountains that is covered by ice. He goes on about the path north of Paws that heads into the mountains. One can climb up   and find the way to the opening there (actually this route requires the Leggings of the Sentri to Jump. Alternately, you can find your way onto the path up to the entrance by climbing the east hillside of the town of Dawn after approaching the town from the north.) Once there some Fireballs or a Flame Bolt will melt the barrier allowing access to the entry room.
